National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of UGC is expected to release the UGC NET June 2026 notification for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor eligibility across 83+ subjects. UGC NET is the most important qualification for teaching in universities and colleges across India. Post-graduates are eligible. Paper I covers Teaching and Research Aptitude; Paper II covers subject-specific knowledge. No age limit for Assistant Professor eligibility; JRF age limit: max 30 years. Fee: ₹1,150 for General.

Qualification

Exam Pattern
- •Paper I: 50 MCQs — Teaching & Research Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, ICT — 100 marks, 1 hour.
- •Paper II: 100 MCQs — Subject-specific knowledge — 200 marks, 2 hours.
- •Total: 150 questions, 300 marks, 3 hours. No Negative Marking (since 2019).
Both papers held on same day — Paper I (morning) + Paper II (afternoon).
