Short Information
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2026 notification with 12,256 vacancies — the largest SSC CGL recruitment in recent years. Applications open from 21 May to 22 June 2026 (extended to 25 June). Posts range from Income Tax Inspector and CBI Sub-Inspector (Pay Level 7) to Junior Statistical Officer and Assistant Audit Officer. This year introduces sectional timing in both Tier 1 and Tier 2, and the AAO post has returned. Graduates aged 18-32 years are eligible. Fee: ₹100 for General; nil for SC/ST/Female/PH/Ex-SM. Tier 1 exam: August-September 2026.

Qualification

Selection Process
- •Tier 1 (Screening): 100 objective questions, 200 marks, 60 minutes (sectional timing). Used only for qualifying/shortlisting.
- •Tier 2 (Merit): Paper I — Mathematical Abilities + English + Stats/Finance (objective + descriptive). Paper II — Computer Knowledge Test (qualifying). Paper III — AAO specific (Finance & Economics).
- •Document Verification: Final stage.
No interview — Tier 2 marks determine final merit and post allotment.
