Short Information
Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment under CEN 01/2026 for 11,127 vacancies — one of the biggest railway recruitment drives of 2026. Applications open from 15 May to 14 June 2026. ALP is a direct entry into the railway loco pilot cadre at Pay Level-2 (₹19,900 initial pay). Need 10th pass + ITI or Engineering Diploma/Degree. Selection through 3 stages: CBT-1, CBT-2, and CBAT. Aadhaar-based authentication mandatory.

Qualification
- •10th + ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trade (Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic Diesel etc.), OR
- •Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile), OR
- •B.E./B.Tech in above disciplines.
- •Age: 18 to 30 years as on 01 July 2026.

Selection Process — 3 Stages
- •CBT-1: Screening test — Maths, Reasoning, Science, GK. Qualifying in nature.
- •CBT-2: Part A (merit) + Part B (qualifying trade test). Technical subject-specific.
- •CBAT: Computer-Based Aptitude Test — psychomotor aptitude. Mandatory for ALP.
- •Document Verification & Medical Examination.
CBAT failure = offered Technician Grade 3 instead of ALP based on CBT-2 marks.
