Short Information
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the NDA & NA 1 2026 notification with 406 vacancies for Army (208), Navy (42), and Air Force (120) branches — including 36 seats for Women in Army (Non-Combat/Observer) for the first time. Applications were open from 11 February to 03 March 2026. Exam: 13 April 2026. This is one of the earliest and most prestigious ways to enter India's defence forces — directly after 12th class. Age: 16.5 to 19.5 years. Fee: ₹100 for General; nil for SC/ST/Sons of Defence personnel.

Negative marking: 1/3rd of marks per wrong answer. SSB Interview: 900 marks. Total: 1,800 marks.
Selection Process
- •Written Examination: Mathematics (300 marks) + GAT (600 marks) = 900 marks total.
- •SSB Interview (5 days): Intelligence and Personality Test at respective service SSB centres.
- •Medical Examination: At designated Military Hospitals.
- •Merit list: Written marks + SSB marks = 1,800 marks total.
Training at NDA, Khadakwasla (Pune) — 3 years + 1 year service-specific training.
