Short Information

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the CTET 2026 notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. CTET is mandatory for teaching in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Central Tibetan Schools, and other central government schools. Paper I is for Classes 1-5 teachers, Paper II for Classes 6-8. CTET score is now valid for lifetime (since 2021). Graduate with B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. eligible. Fee: ₹1,000 for General (Paper I or II); ₹1,200 for both papers.

Exam Pattern

  • Paper I: Child Development (30 Qs), Language I (30 Qs), Language II (30 Qs), Mathematics (30 Qs), Environmental Studies (30 Qs) = 150 marks.
  • Paper II: Child Development (30 Qs), Language I (30 Qs), Language II (30 Qs), Mathematics/Science OR Social Studies (60 Qs) = 150 marks.
  • Qualifying marks: 60% (90/150) for General; 55% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD (some states).
No Negative Marking in CTET.
